What are Tulpae?
One theory is that Tulpae are beings, "entities" as you may call them, created solely by concentrating for many hours. Another theory is that Tulpae are just a figment of someone's imagination, as Tulpae are often created by mentally unstable people. Many people with schizophrenia have reported seeing imaginary people often mistaken with Tulpae. Or actually, they could be Tulpae. Nobody knows. To keep it less confusing we are going to keep an open mind with this topic and go with theory one: A tulpa is not a figment of the imagination, but is rather something real that has come to exist out of one's fantasy and/or brain. This being said we do have to note that not anybody can just create a Tulpa. There are dangers attached. What dangers, you ask? You'll hear about them soon.
I will now give you a more detailed description of a Tulpa. We've already learned Tulpae come from the mind. Thoughts. Imagination, even. A tulpa is a being you create with your mind by concentrating hard for many hours. You have "Tulpaforcing" sessions whenever you can. Usually these sessions are rather draining, considering concentrating for a long period of time requires lots of energy. With Tulpaforcing you create the inner Tulpa first. You design a character for it. Give it a name. Slowly, with each session, you start working on the outside. Is your Tulpa going to be almost animal-like? Do you want it to be an exact replica of you? A doppelganger? Or do you choose to pick something so different from you, yet you can relate to it so well?
What can Tulpae do, exactly?
The ancient question a human asks itself time to time is: What's in it for me? So exactly, how does creating a Tulpa benefit you? Well, considering it's like raising a pet or a small child, it's going to take a lot of hours and effort, but the result will be most satisfying (or horrific, more on that later). In later stages of Tulpaforcing you can design your Tulpa so that it knows speech. Mind you, Tulpae come from the mind. This means it knows everything you do and probably more. It should already know speech, but considering you're "forcing" it to life, it's only natural it's a bit shy. When you trust your Tulpa enough, you can start conversing with it. Considering it comes from your brain it knows a great deal about you, your environment and everyone you've ever met. It's like your memory packed into a person or a pet, a visualisation of your consciousness standing right in front of you. You can ask it what your date wore on your first date. You can ask it to read a page of a book years ago out loud and it will do so flawlessly. You see, everything you've ever touched, smelled, heard or saw is mostly forgotten. Pushed far back into the brain, simply because it's not important. Your Tulpa can access those memories, that's what makes them so valuable.
Tulpae gone wrong
Sometimes Tulpaforcing can go wrong, though. You should always be a little bit careful when tulpaforcing. Have the right state of mind. Design your Tulpa the right way. Don't unintentionally give it any bad characteristics, as it may turn against you at some point. Don't make it too cocky or strong. Don't let it get the better of you. Sometimes people lose control over their Tulpae. They are starting to lack concentration and their Tulpa becomes a distorted image of what once was a nice being. Not only the outside becomes distorted, but also the characteristics. It may refuse any good you'll try to put in it. Fortunately, if you're lucky, you can "destroy" the Tulpa by pulling back it's energy. This could take many weeks, though. Always be warned when trying to make a Tulpa.
